Softball Recap: 11 Straight Home Victories for Potlatch

Potlatch entered their tilt with Kendrick on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Tigers 23-1. For the Loggers, this counts as revenge for the 11-9 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Brieanna Winther looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Potlatch got a massive performance out of Reese Lusby, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with six stolen bases and four runs. That's the most stolen bases Lusby has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jaida Andres, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Potlatch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .743. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kendrick only posted an OBP of .312.

Potlatch pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Kendrick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Potlatch beat the Tigers by a score of 22-4 later that day.
