Softball Game Preview: Lakeside Christian Lions vs. Seven Rivers Christian Warriors

Lakeside Christian is 1-9 against Seven Rivers Christian since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lions will host the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lakeside Christian's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Saint Stephen's Episcopal with a sharp 12-0 win. Considering the Lions have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seven Rivers Christian). Everything went their way against Ocala Christian on Friday as they made off with a 20-8 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Warriors needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Natalee Tidwell made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Tidwell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Madalyn Luider was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alannah Ruiz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Lakeside Christian's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Seven Rivers Christian, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-14.

Lakeside Christian took their victory against Seven Rivers Christian when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 19-4 score. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
