West Point won the last time they faced Essex and things went their way on Wednesday too. West Point came out on top in a nail-biter against Essex, sneaking past 9-7.
Haley Spradlin was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney White, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
West Point hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Essex struck out six times.
West Point now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Essex, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Point beat Essex by a score of 9-7 later that day.
