Basketball Recap: Cherokee Trail Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Cherokee Trail extended their home winning streak to nine games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Aaliyah Broadus. The Cherokee Trail Cougars took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 67-12 victory over the Smoky Hill Buffaloes thanks in part to Broadus, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 19 points along with six boards and four steals. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Selah Davis, who posted five points in addition to five assists and five steals. Cherokee Trail is 9-4 when Davis posts five or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

Cherokee Trail is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38 points. As for Smoky Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Cherokee Trail has already played their next match, a 49-48 defeat against Cherry Creek on the 31st. As for Smoky Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-12 loss against Mullen on the 31st.
