Soccer Game Preview: Portage vs. Wautoma

The Portage Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Wautoma Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Portage's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 12 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Portage lost 7-1 to Wisconsin Heights on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Portage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Wisconsin Heights are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, Wautoma fell victim to Pacelli and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 3-0.

Portage's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Wautoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Portage took their victory against Wautoma in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
