Flag Football Recap: Hailey Huerta's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rosary Academy over University

Rosary Academy lost against University back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Royals lost 35-13 to the Trojans. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rosary Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hailey Huerta, who rushed for 32 yards and one score, and also picked up 77 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Sophie Lickl, who picked up 106 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Rosary Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jackie Liao. She is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she's now defended two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

A big part of University's win came down to the chemistry between Carson Cruz and her top target Arden Marchiorlatti. Cruz threw for 335 yards and five TDs while Marchiorlatti picked up 107 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Marchiorlatti also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending three passes.

Rosary Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-20. As for University, their record now sits at 10-13.

As of now, neither Rosary Academy nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
