League recap: Bakersfield Christian tops Arvin to extend winning streak

South Sequoia recap November 13, 2013

Bakersfield Christian extended the longest winning streak in South Sequoia this week by beating Arvin, 48-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Eagles.

Taft took down Kennedy 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Joseph Sanchez ran for 93 yards in the win.

Shafter's dynamic duo of Kyle Millwee and Nick Alexander proved tough for Wasco to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Millwee threw for 262 yards and 2 touchdowns and Alexander had 111 yards receiving. Richard Nourse helped Shafter's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 80 yards.

He was 17-28 with 2 interceptions.

Going into this week's contest against Parlier, the Generals' Millwee needs 137 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Millwee has thrown for 1,863 yards with 18 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

Terrance Grinner has rushed for 921 yards on 69 carries so far this year.

The Tigers led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on Shafter.
