Basketball Recap: Ash Fork's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Ash Fork put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Williams Vikings by a score of 28-17. The 28-point effort marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Ash Fork to victory were Isabella Acosta and Gracie Staples. Acosta dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 steals, while Staples posted eight points and 13 boards. Acosta is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 20 games she's played dating back to last season.

Ash Fork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Ash Fork's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Williams, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ash Fork won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rock Point at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
