Recap: Lake Washington Kangaroos vs. Juanita Ravens
The Lake Washington Kangaroos fell victim to the Juanita Ravens''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Ravens, falling 31-0. Lake Washington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Juanita apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Leading Juanita to victory were Nolan Mcwilliams and Dallas Sooto. Mcwilliams picked up 170 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Sooto threw for 283 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.2% of his passes. Mcwilliams' longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Elliot Staples also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Lake Washington are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Juanita, Bellevue, and Mercer Island. As for Juanita, their win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-2.
Lake Washington will take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Liberty is ranked 96th, while Lake Washington is ranked 109th). As for Juanita, they will head out on the road to face off against Mercer Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mercer Island will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
