Softball Recap: Carrollton Picks Up 30th Consecutive Win

Carrollton put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Trojans by a score of 9-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-3 back in April.

Lauren Flowers made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Flowers was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Uhles, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Vanna Holmes, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Carrollton pushed their record up to 30-0 with the victory, which was their 36th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-7.

Carrollton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-6 victory against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg on the 13th. As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
