Volleyball Recap: Ruskin Golden Eagles vs. Truman Patriots

Ruskin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Truman Patriots, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-13, 25-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Truman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addisson Gardner, who had ten digs and five aces. Gardner is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Stone, who had four aces and ten assists.

Ruskin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Truman, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ruskin will welcome Fort Osage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Osage will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Ruskin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Truman, they will play host again on Monday to welcome Oak Park, where the match is scheduled at 5:30 p.m.
