Baseball Recap: Beech Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glenbard East, Beech was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Green Hill Hawks. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jackson Jennings looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matchups.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Kennedy, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Kennedy, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Beech's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Green Hill, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-3.

Beech will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
