Football Recap: Lukas Weaver's Menacing Defense Leads Clark County over Westran

Clark County's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 32-20 win over the Westran Hornets. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 22-20 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Brennan Fuller was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 98 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Lukas Weaver was another key player, picking up 115 receiving yards and one TD.

Clark County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Weaver.

When it comes to explaining why Westran lost, don't look at Cruze Haynes. Despite the final result, he picked up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown. Gage Adler also helped with two scores in total.

With the win, Clark County broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6. As for Westran, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clark County will head out to face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Westran, they are taking a road trip to square off against Salisbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
