Softball Recap: Weiss Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

There's no place like home for Weiss, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Pflugerville Panthers on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolves needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Bel Larsen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Santos, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Weiss was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Weiss is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Pflugerville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Weiss will face off against rival Pflugerville Connally at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pflugerville is set to square off against their familiar foe Georgetown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
