Basketball Recap: MacArthur Brahmas vs. Jay Mustangs
MacArthur lost against Jay back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The MacArthur Brahmas were outmatched by the Jay Mustangs and fell 93-34. While losing is never fun, the Brahmas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 991st, while the Mustangs are ranked 38th).

MacArthur's loss came despite strong showings from Cash Slaughter and Darryl Copeland. Slaughter posted 13 points and three steals, while Copeland went 6 of 9 en route to 12 points. That's the most points Copeland has posted since back in November of 2023.

MacArthur has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. As for Jay, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-2.
MacArthur has already played their next matchup, a 73-52 victory against Southside on the 28th. As for Jay, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-60 win against Harlandale on the 28th.
