Softball Recap: McKinley Red Dragons vs. Lakeside Dragons
McKinley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They lost 19-10 to the Lakeside Dragons. Even if McKinley couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Kennedy Barrell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Noland, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
On Lakeside's side, they got a massive performance out of Caylee Carlson, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and a stolen base. Rosie Briones was another key contributor, going 1-for-6 with five runs and four RBI.
McKinley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Lakeside, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-17.
McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to square off against Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
