Baseball Game Preview: Clovis Wildcats vs. Hobbs Eagles

The Clovis Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Hobbs Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Clovis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Carlsbad, who was ranked sixth at the time (Clovis was ranked 17th). The Wildcats fell just short of the Cavemen by a score of 14-13 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Cavemen: they've now lost five in a row.

Hobbs had taken Roswell down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Coyotes by a score of 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since February 26th.

Cope Greebon led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Trystan Montez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
