Volleyball Game Preview: Davis Darts vs. Lone Peak Knights

After both having extra time off, the Davis Darts and the Lone Peak Knights will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Davis is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Davis lost 3-0 to Syracuse on Tuesday.

Davis was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-17.

Lone Peak won the last time they faced Brighton and Luhanna Panta did her part to make sure it happened again. The Knights put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday for which the team can thank Panta, who had 13 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

While Lone Peak might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Brighton scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.

Davis' defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Lone Peak, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's matchup: Davis has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Lone Peak struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Davis suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lone Peak when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Darts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
