It was a good run, but Liberty unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Kirbyville Wildcats by a score of 5-4.

Liberty got a good showing from Jonathan Wilkerson, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wilkerson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Frankie Marez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11-1. As for Kirbyville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will welcome Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kirbyville, they will be playing at home against Pollok Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
