Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Golden View Classical Academy's Winning Streak

If Golden View Classical Academy was feeling good fresh off their 71-35 takedown of Aurora West College Prep Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels came up short against the Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds on Friday, falling 70-44. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Firebirds are ranked 13th).

Despite the loss, Golden View Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Jacob Walker, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Piepergerdes, who put up five points.

Windsor Charter Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Cronk led the charge by putting up six points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dayton Long, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 14 points and four blocks.
