Volleyball Recap: Rampart Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Discovery Canyon

Rampart faced Discovery Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Rampart fell just short of Discovery Canyon by a score of 3-2. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

While Rampart ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 11 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 21-25, 15-11.

Their offense was headlined by Trey Heater and John Belisario, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Dylan Paurus and his 39 assists. Keaton Klich controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Rampart's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Discovery Canyon, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Rampart and Discovery Canyon will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time Rampart sees the court they'll take on Grandview at 6:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Discovery Canyon, their break will end when they face Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on April 1.
