Baseball Recap: Naples Wins Going Away Against Golden Gate

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Naples). They blew past the Golden Gate Titans 14-4 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

ETHAN KATZ was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was NICO BLANCO, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Naples always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Gate only posted an OBP of .440.

Naples' win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Golden Gate, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.

Naples and Golden Gate's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Naples will take on South Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed four runs per game. Meanwhile, Golden Gate and Barron Collier (who has only given up 3.4 runs per game) will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
