Liberty Magnet got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Houston, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Daniel Sanchez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Liberty Magnet back to even at 13-13. As for Woodlawn-B.R., they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-23.

Coming up, Liberty Magnet will square off against Parkview Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodlawn-B.R. will be paying especially close attention to the Patriots' contest: after the Patriots faces off against the Eagles, they'll take on Woodlawn-B.R. again at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
