Allie Casavant and Bridgitt Van Etten secure win for Cumberland

Recap: Cumberland Clippers vs. Mt. Hope Huskies

The Cumberland Clippers won the last time they faced the Mt. Hope Huskies, and things went their way on Thursday too. Cumberland walked away with a 50-37 victory over Mt. Hope.

Cumberland was led to victory by Allie Casavant and Bridgitt Van Etten. Casavant scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Van Etten scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Van Etten has scored at least a third of Cumberland's points. Brooke Durkin was another key contributor, scoring three points along with three steals.

Cumberland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Mt. Hope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Cumberland on the road again on Monday and play against Chariho at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Chariho will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Mt. Hope will take on East Greenwich at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Greenwich is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
