Softball Preview: Jackson Ironman/Ironladies vs. Notre Dame Titans
The Jackson Ironman/Ironladies will challenge the Notre Dame Titans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Jackson 2.7, Notre Dame 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Jackson lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Chillicothe, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Ironman/Ironladies' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cavaliers a 12-0 shutout last Tuesday. The Ironman/Ironladies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.
Serenity Taylor tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, KJ Worsham and Daycee Howard did most of the damage at the plate: Worsham went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one run, while Howard went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Jackson has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-3.
