Hickory Flat lost against Tremont back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hickory Flat Rebels were dealt a 70-38 defeat at the hands of the Tremont Eagles. The Rebels' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Tremont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Gillespie out in front who went 5 for 11 on her way to 19 points and six steals. That's the most steals Gillespie has posted since back in November of 2024. Paige Gillespie was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals.

Hickory Flat's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Tremont, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-10.

Hickory Flat won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Potts Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tremont, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Blue Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
