Basketball Recap: Wewoka Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Wewoka Tigers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-54 to the Hartshorne Miners.

Wewoka's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Hartshorne, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wewoka Tigers challenge the Bethel Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hartshorne, they will take on Talihina at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
