Football Recap: Melba Falls Short of Aberdeen in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Melba can now relate to. They came up short against the Aberdeen Tigers on Saturday, falling 28-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 34-30 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2022.

Tyce Johnson threw for 139 yards on ten of 19 attempts.

Aberdeen can attribute much of their success to Erik Alvarez, who rushed for 83 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Jovanny Valeriano also deserves some recognition as he posted his first receiving yards of the season.

Melba's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Aberdeen, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Melba does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aberdeen, they will head out to take on Priest River at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 32.9 points per game this season.
