Baseball Recap: Pojoaque Valley Comes Up Short

Pojoaque Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-2 to the Los Alamos Hilltoppers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilltoppers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 on Saturday.

Pojoaque Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Markos Romero, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Pojoaque Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Los Alamos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Pojoaque Valley will host Espanola Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sundevils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.88 runs per game on average), something the Elks/Elkettes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Los Alamos, they will head out on the road to face off against Albuquerque Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
