Softball Game Preview: Eastview Lightning vs. Eagan Wildcats

The Eastview Lightning will head out to take on the Eagan Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Eastview fell victim to Farmington and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Tigers. The Lightning have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eagan took on Lakeville North on Thursday. The Wildcats fell 9-6 to the Panthers.

Sienna Sireno made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Jocelyn McClary was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Eagan's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Eastview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Eastview skirted past Eagan 6-5 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lightning since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
