Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Classical Academy's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against BASIS Phoenix last Thursday, Gilbert Classical Academy came back down to earth. The Spartans came up short against the Seton Catholic Sentinels on Friday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since April 22, 2024.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-10, 25-7.

Jayden Yates paced Gilbert Classical Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Yates got some help from Jotham Demellow and his 13 assists.

Gilbert Classical Academy moved to 9-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Seton Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Gilbert Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against San Tan Charter on the 8th. As for Seton Catholic, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against BASIS Flagstaff on the 8th.
