Baseball Recap: Prince Edward County's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

Prince Edward County had lost six games at home, but after bumping their record up to 5-10 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Nottoway Cougars 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since March 18th.

Clevante Watkins was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Prince Edward County: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Jones, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

As for Nottoway, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Nottoway's side, Eli Simmons was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Jadarrian Hendricks, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
