Soccer Game Preview: San Marcos vs. Dos Pueblos

The San Marcos Royals will venture away from home to challenge the Dos Pueblos Chargers at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. San Marcos' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

San Marcos took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They beat Ventura by a goal, winning 1-0. The Royals' winning goal came courtesy of Jose Ramirez.

Meanwhile, Dos Pueblos hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Rio Mesa. That's two games straight that the Chargers have won by exactly two goals.

Dos Pueblos' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0-2. As for San Marcos, they now have a winning record of 5-4-2.

San Marcos skirted past Dos Pueblos 2-1 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Does San Marcos have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dos Pueblos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
