Softball Game Preview: Cholla Chargers vs. Flowing Wells Caballeros

The Cholla Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cholla comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Cholla is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Mesquite on Monday, falling 18-3. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Maiya Encinas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, Flowing Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 19-4 to Casa Grande.

Yesenia Solano and Karlyn Felix stepped up to the plate in a big way. Solano went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Felix went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Cholla's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Flowing Wells, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Cholla took their victory against Flowing Wells in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 13-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cholla since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
