Softball Game Preview: Churchland Truckers vs. Norcom Greyhounds

Churchland is a perfect 10-0 against Norcom since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Truckers will look to defend their home field against the Greyhounds at 4:30 p.m. Churchland has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Churchland lost 12-4 to Granby on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Truckers in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost six in a row.

Jestice Hill was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Pharoah Doxie, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Norcom got the win against Norfolk Christian on Thursday by a conclusive 27-9. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

The victory got Norcom back to even at 4-4. As for Churchland, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.

Churchland took their win against Norcom in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0 score. Do the Truckers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greyhounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
