The Analy Tigers will face off against the Rancho Cotate Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Analy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Analy took on Cardinal Newman on Tuesday. The Tigers fell 11-6 to the Cardinals. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Sophia Pellini made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Rancho Cotate ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Windsor 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since May 5, 2025.
Madisyn Guinn tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Isabella Scardina was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Jessica Wilmes, who went 1-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
Rancho Cotate's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Analy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Analy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Rancho Cotate struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
