Salpointe Catholic has gone 8-1 against Ironwood Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Salpointe Catholic Lancers will square off against the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Salpointe Catholic is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Notre Dame Prep just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 63-53 to the Saints. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Saints are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Ironwood Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Walden Grove. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Nighthawks have suffered since November 20, 2024.

Salpointe Catholic will need focus on slowing down Carter Brown, one of several Ironwood Ridge players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 17 points along with eight boards and four steals. The matchup was Brown's fifth in a row with at least ten points. David Baba was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Ironwood Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Salpointe Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.

Salpointe Catholic strolled past Ironwood Ridge in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 62-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Salpointe Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
