Flag Football Recap: Eastmark Skates Past Combs with Ease

Eastmark's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 47-0 win over the Combs Coyotes. That looming 47-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Firebirds yet this season.

It was another big night for Paige McCrabb, who threw for 277 yards and five TDs while completing 80% of her passes, and also rushed for 46 yards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (160.4).

Eastmark didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Makaela Vollaro led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Kinsley McCarty got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Eastmark's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.4 points over those games. As for Combs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Eastmark didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-0 victory against ALA - Queen Creek on the 22nd. As for Combs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 22-6 loss against Desert Sunrise on the 23rd.
