Mendon has gone a perfect 10-0 against Eastridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Vikings will face off against the Lancers at 10:00 a.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Mendon sitting on five straight wins and Eastridge on four.
Mendon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against East as they made off with a 12-1 victory. Considering the Vikings have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethan Postle spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Samuel Harrigan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Sansone, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Mendon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Eastridge won against Palmyra-Macedon on Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Lancers beat Honeoye Falls-Lima by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-1.
Evan Bishop made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Eastridge is 7-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise. Bishop was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Xzavier Hughey, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Mendon pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Eastridge, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
Eastridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mendon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for Eastridge, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Mendon's hitters?
Mendon beat Eastridge 5-2 when the teams last played on May 6th. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
