Basketball Recap: Covenant School of Jacksonville Takes a Loss

Covenant School of Jacksonville lost against First Coast Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Covenant School of Jacksonville Warriors were beaten by the First Coast Christian Knights 80-40. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-25.

First Coast Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Ellis Jr., who went 7 of 11 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and six steals. Ellis Jr. is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahrell Gilbert, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 20 points in addition to six assists and four steals.

Covenant School of Jacksonville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for First Coast Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Covenant School of Jacksonville will venture away from home to challenge Beaches Chapel at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for First Coast Christian, they will take on Eagle's View at 8:15 p.m. on Friday.
