Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Eli Saint-Amour and Jace Shaw Lead Mauldin to Victory

Mauldin posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They blew past the Hillcrest Rams 65-39. The win continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Mauldin was led to victory by Jace Shaw and Eli Saint-Amour. Shaw went 7 for 11 en route to 20 points and five boards, while Saint-Amour dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Shaw a new career-high in field goal percentage (64%). Another player making a difference was Jayden Owens, who posted nine points.

Mauldin's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Hillcrest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mauldin will square off against J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in J.L. Mann's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Hillcrest, they will challenge Easley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Easley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Hillcrest likes a good challenge.
