Woodruff is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Broome Centurions at 7:30 p.m. Woodruff is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 37.3 points per game this season.
Woodruff is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 52 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Wren on Friday. They were dealt a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Hurricanes. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost three in a row.

| 08/29/25 vs Fountain Inn | 113 |
Aiden Gibson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 115 yards on only 14 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 113 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Broome took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 40-7 victory over Blacksburg. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Centurions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Wildcats are ranked 225th).
Woodruff better keep an eye on Tyqwon Booker. He was instrumental in Broome's win, rushing for 140 yards and three TDs. Booker didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made one tackle. Brayden Simpson also helped out with an impressive 108 receiving yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Broome's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cedric Fernanders, Aayden Hemphill, and Levi Bishop, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Blacksburg's side was Asher Littlejohn, who made 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass.
The win made it two in a row for Broome and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points over those games. As for Woodruff, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Woodruff has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 201.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Broome struggles in that department as they've been averaging 181.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Woodruff took their win against Broome in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 35-14 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
