Basketball Game Preview: Costa Mesa Mustangs vs. Estancia Eagles

The Costa Mesa Mustangs will face off against the Estancia Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Costa Mesa didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Whitney, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

While Estancia didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Nogales 64-25 on Wednesday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Estancia's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Costa Mesa, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Everything came up roses for Costa Mesa against Estancia when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-40 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
