Baseball Game Preview: Wright Red Devils vs. Northland Pines Eagles

The Wright Red Devils will face off against the Northland Pines Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Wright made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Washburn, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Red Devils fell just short of the Castle Guards by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since May 17, 2024.

Brendan McCullough spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Wright saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madden Sommer, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Northland Pines unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Antigo by a score of 9-7.

Northland Pines got a big performance out of Ethan Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Huelskamp, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Northland Pines' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Wright, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
