Volleyball Recap: Perrin-Whitt Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Perrin-Whitt was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Forestburg on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates fell just short of the Chico Dragons by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Perrin-Whitt actually scored more points across those five sets (97-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 22-25, 6-25, 25-16, 15-8.

Lucchese Reilly paced Perrin-Whitt's offense, picking up ten kills. Reilly got some help from Mackenzie Green and her 18 assists. Reilly was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Perrin-Whitt has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-10-2 record this season. As for Chico, they moved to 10-15 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perrin-Whitt will venture away from home to challenge Ranger at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Chico, they will take on Lipan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Dragons their first taste of in-conference action this season.
