Football Recap: Southmoreland Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Southmoreland's offense. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Elizabeth Forward Warriors. The Scotties haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Dawson Wolfe threw for 102 yards on six of 19 attempts. Makel Darnell was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards.

Ryan Messina had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 193 yards and three scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 164 yards while completing 75% of his passes for Elizabeth Forward. That's the most rushing touchdowns Messina has posted since back in August.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southmoreland fell to 8-1. As for Elizabeth Forward, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Southmoreland has already played their next matchup, a 38-0 win against Greensburg Salem on the 24th. As for Elizabeth Forward, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-7 victory against Mt. Pleasant on the 24th.
