Baseball Recap: Northridge Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Northridge's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Zanesville Blue Devils. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 12-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Peyton McKenzie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, Northridge's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brice Beaver, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Kash Reeves was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Northridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since April 1st.

Northridge's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Zanesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Northridge will face off against rival Johnstown-Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Zanesville is set to take on their familiar foe Licking Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
