Baseball Game Preview: Southwick Regional Rams vs. Drury Blue Devils

The Southwick Regional Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Drury Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwick Regional is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Turners Falls hit Southwick Regional with a four-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams fell 6-2 to the Indians.

Nolan Avery and Bryan Pomeroy stepped up to the plate in a big way. Avery went 2-for-3 with one run and one double, while Pomeroy went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Pomeroy's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Drury didn't have quite enough to beat Mount Anthony on Friday and fell 8-7. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Brayden Canales and JJ Prenguber did some serious damage despite the final result: Canales went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double, while Prenguber went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Feliciano, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Southwick Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Drury, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Southwick Regional suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Drury in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
