Basketball Game Preview: Brentwood School Eagles vs. Rialto Knights

Brentwood School is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Rialto is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Brentwood School Eagles will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Rialto Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Brentwood School greeted the New Year with with a 57-42 victory over Louisville. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Royals are ranked 181st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rialto strolled past Clayton Valley Charter with points to spare back in December of 2024, taking the game 74-59.

Brentwood School better focus on containing Carrington Davis and Jackie Polk as the pair were huge in Rialto's win. Davis dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 boards, while Polk went 10 of 17 on her way to 29 points and four steals. Polk is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Rabino, who posted 18 points.

Rialto smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups.

Rialto has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Brentwood School, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
