Softball Recap: South Beloit Comes Up Short

South Beloit had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it eight. They lost 11-0 to the Rockford Auburn Knights. The Sobos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

As for Rockford Auburn, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Rockford Auburn's part, Lily Parr and Ava Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Parr went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Johnson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Johnson has posted since back in May of 2025. Natalee Jasso was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

South Beloit wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Parkview on the 11th. As for Rockford Auburn, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-2 loss against Hononegah on the 13th.
